Privacy Policy

CarCostIQ respects your privacy. This policy describes how CarCostIQ handles information when you use carcostiq.com (the "Site").

Information collected

• Email and waitlist data — if you join the waitlist or submit an email intent on the result page, CarCostIQ stores your email and related metadata (e.g. region, source page) to send verification or follow-up communications you request.
• Usage analytics — CarCostIQ may use tools such as PostHog to understand product usage (e.g. calculator steps, page views). See the Cookies & analytics page.
• Technical data — standard server logs, IP address, and user agent for security and rate limiting.

How information is used

To operate the calculator, improve the product, send emails you explicitly request, prevent abuse, and comply with law.

Data retention

Waitlist and contact data is retained until you request removal or it is no longer needed for the stated purpose. Analytics data is aggregated and does not contain personally identifiable information after processing. Data is retained only as long as needed for these purposes or as required by law.

Third-party services

CarCostIQ uses PostHog for product analytics (in memory-only mode — no persistent cookies by default) and Sentry for error monitoring. These services process limited technical data to help improve the calculator. CarCostIQ does not sell or share your personal data with advertisers.

Payment processing

One-off Premium Report payments (US$9.99 USD, ≈A$14) are processed by Creem as CarCostIQ's payment service provider (merchant of record). When you complete a payment, Creem collects and stores the card data needed for that transaction directly on its hosted checkout — CarCostIQ never sees, transmits, or stores your card number, CVC, or expiry. CarCostIQ receives only metadata about completed payments (provider order id, payer email, amount, currency, status) to record the purchase and grant access to the Premium Report you paid for. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time via the contact page. CarCostIQ aims to respond within 30 days.
